Snow Tire Administrator and ECE Conference 2018 | Michigan District, LCMS

Snow Tire Administrator and ECE Conference 2018

Thursday, February 8, 2018 - 11:30 am EST to Friday, February 9, 2018 - 12:00 pm EST

Crown Plaza
925 South Creyts Road
Lansing, MI

Event Description:

Brothers and Sisters of Christ,

It is with great joy and anticipation that we invite you to our annual Snow Tire Administrator and ECE Conference which will be held February 8-9, 2018. The entire conference will take place at the Crowne Plaza in Lansing.

Pastor Grenz from Trinity Wyandotte will be our worship and devotional leader for the conference. Bob Lenz will be presenting to Principals on Thursday afternoon and to the whole assembly as our keynote speaker on Friday morning. His presentations will be inspiring, emotional, quite educational, and always full of humor. You can also see on the agenda that our 24 hours together will be packed with other important information as we hear from our district/state leaders, sponsors, and partners in ministry. The time for fellowship is pretty enjoyable as well!

We have increased our registration cost slightly to adjust for the continued increase in the hotel food and programming expenses. We are provided three meals this year… lunch when you arrive, dinner on Thursday, and breakfast on Friday. There will be significant discussions among our committee members, district staff, and other administrators on how we can best provide a great conference for our leaders in our district in the years to come and at the same time make it affordable.

Registration will be done through the Michigan District website starting November 29th. Grant applications are available upon request to help offset conference costs for those in need. You can also use Title II funds to help with a good portion of the conference. God’s blessings as you enjoy the CHRISTmas season!

In Humble Service to the King,

Travis Grulke – Superintendent of Schools
Jennifer Enge – Conference Chair

Grant-in-Aid Requests

Grant in Aid is meant to assist congregations in a time of need. It is not meant to be used year after year as a conference discount. It is for this reason that the committee has decided that Grant in Aid can only be requested by a particular congregation once every three years. If aid is granted, individuals will be assigned to a double room. Under no circumstances will individuals requesting Grant in Aid be placed in a single room (even if they are willing to pay the difference for a single room). Aid may be requested for 2 workers in the same congregation (i.e. principal and early childhood director) providing that aid has not been granted within the past 3 years. If you have questions regarding this policy, please contact the Education Department: 888.225.2111

Bob Lenz

There are school assembly speakers who have great things to say, but aren’t engaging enough to hold the attention of a skeptical student audience. Then there are those who can captivate a crowd, but leave students longing to hear something of substance.

Bob Lenz is the speaker who can do both! His humorous, down-to-earth style and genuine concern captures young people’s attention. His stories and principles awaken their understanding and inspire them to embrace their worth and impact their world with purpose and resolve.

He is the author of the anti-bullying book, Dignity Revolution, and initiator of a national pledge to stand up for the worth, value and dignity of every person. In addition to the book, Bob uses school assembly programs and classroom campaigns to encourage students to take ownership of the lessons shared and equip them with life skills to face and overcome challenges.

Bob is the Founder & President of Life Promotions, a non-profit youth organization with a mission to instill hope in youth. Since he began speaking in schools in 1982, he has spoken to more than five million people in all 50 states and across the world.
